On 13 August 1994, Baiduri Bank officially opened its doors in
Brunei Darussalam, ushering in a new era of banking excellence.
Staffed by a modest team of twelve at the head office on Jalan
Pemancha, Baiduri Bank was the only commercial bank in the
country serving corporate and private banking clients.
Thanks to strong demand, the Bank diversified into retail
banking in 1996, opening a second brand in Kiarong and
establishing Baiduri Finance, focusing on hire-purchase
financing. This marked the inception of a legacy characterised
by innovation, resilience, and customer-centricity.
By the end of the decade, the Bank had a total of five
branches: Kiarong, Kuala Belait, Sengkurong, Centrepoint and
Supa Save Gadong.
